CANUK Career and Education Framework for nurses working in LTFU and Late Effects

The Cancer Aftercare Nurses (CANUK) group are pleased to announce the updated career and education framework and competencies V2.0. This updated career and education framework is intended for use by nurses employed in long-term follow-up (LTFU) roles for children, young people and adults after treatment for cancer during childhood, adolescence or young adulthood.

Supportive Care Education Day

Everyone with an interest in supportive care in paediatric oncology is welcome to join us so please encourage all members of your team to attend. The day will feature a varied and engaging programme from international expert multidisciplinary speakers presenting new developments and research.

Fits (seizures)

Your child may have fits at diagnosis, or following initial surgery. They may also occur during the palliative phase.

Ultra challenges

Looking for a challenge to test yourself, to get in shape, or bond with friends on a weekend adventure? If so, an Ultra Challenge is for you and you don't need to be a budding elite athlete - they're for everyone, take it on at your pace!

Eilidh's story

Eilidh Mackay was diagnosed with leukaemia, a type of blood cancer, when she was 14, and, while undergoing treatment for this, she was also diagnosed with thyroid cancer aged 17, which relapsed in 2023.
