How we fund research
We fund research that improves the treatment, care and support for children and young people with cancer.
Our Special Named Funds empower families to build a supportive community in honour of children and young people affected by cancer.
Our Special Named Funds are a way for families to honour a child or young person affected by cancer, and to raise funds in their name. They are a positive way for families, friends and the local community to come together and make a difference.
Funds raised will go towards your chosen area of our work such as research into a specific type of cancer, patient information or our general work helping all children diagnosed with cancer.
Having a fund allows you to fundraise in your own way, at your own pace, whilst also trusting CCLG to ensure all donations go to your chosen area of support.
We have over 100 Special Named Funds active, forming a community of like-minded families.
Our funds have raised over £4.8 million, which funds research that matters to our Special Named Fund families.
Fundraising is a powerful way to bring everyone together and can provide a much-needed focus at a difficult time.
Many families feel comforted by doing something practical to improve futures for children and young people with cancer.
"We are so proud of what we have achieved over the last few years. It has not always been easy, sometimes very hard and upsetting, but what has given us both strength is the massive support in our home town of Barrow-in-Furness. Not only are Team Jake helping to support CCLG in finding a cure for this disease, but they are ensuring that Jake's memory continues to shine."Jo-Ann and Nick, who set up Team Jake in their son's memory
We fund research that improves the treatment, care and support for children and young people with cancer.
We have been funding expert research since 2016, aiming to ensure that every child and young person has a safe and effective treatment for their cancer, and that they can live long and happy lives post-treatment.
At CCLG, we are proud to lead the way in shaping research that addresses the unique needs of children and young people with cancer.
