Germ Cell Tumours National Advisory Panel

Thank you for referring patients to the National Germ Cell Tumour Advisory Panel.

The panel will aim to provide an opinion within 2 weeks of the referral being received, but will provide this within a shorter time frame where possible. Due to the rarity of these tumours, cases will be discussed on an ad hoc basis rather than via scheduled meetings.

Aims of the NAP

  • The National Germ Cell Tumour Advisory panel has compiled the expertise of a small group of dedicated clinicians from across the country with a special interest in the various aspects of management of paediatric germ cell tumours. They are members of the CCLG Germ Cell Tumours Special Interest Group and NCRI Childrens Germ Cell Tumour subgroup Clinical Studies Group and hence will have expertise in current clinical trial options that may be available both nationally and internationally.
  • We are keen to provide advisory support for colleagues caring for patients with clinically challenging germ cell tumours tumours. We also aim to sign-post colleagues to relevant open trials, biology studies, registries and tumour banking opportunities.
  • The advisory panel will only provide advice on management and this is NOT an MDT treatment recommendation. Treatment remains at the sole discretion of treating clinicians for retain professional responsibility for their actions and treatment decisions. There is no obligation or commitment to take the suggestions offered by the panel.
