Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group is pleased to launch our first Toti Worboys Paediatric Leukaemia Project Grant.
Thomas ‘Toti’ Worboys sadly passed away in July 2014 due to AML. Since then, his family have been tirelessly raising funds for CCLG in Toti’s memory, to support research into childhood leukaemia.
Toti Worboys Project Grant
- Funding is available to support research into paediatric leukaemia. The funded project will improve our understanding of the disease and help improve the outlook for children.
- A grant of up to £100,000 over up to 36 months is available.
- Funds for this grant have been raised by The Toti Worboys Fund at CCLG, and the family are particularly interested in approaches which may lead to improvements in treatment for this disease.
- Our Project Grants may support stand-alone projects, research that is part of a wider project or trial, or research that is likely to lead to a further, larger grant application to a major funder of research.
- This grant may also be used to fund a PhD studentship - the potential supervisor should apply for the grant.
- Funding is available to UK and Ireland based research organisations.

How research applications are selected
Excellent research governance is at the heart of our research decision making. Our independent Research Advisory Group (RAG) overseas our research grant rounds and follows our Principles of Peer Review Policy. All of our RAG members and external peer reviewers are asked to declare any Conflicts of Interest and adhere to our Grant Review Code of Conduct . Following peer review, the RAG will discuss and rank the applications for funding. Final approval comes from our Board of Trustees (which may be delegated to our Executive in the case of Special Named Funds and restricted funds).
