We need your help with studying how cancer is diagnosed in children and young people.
In order to do this, we want to know what symptoms they experience, who they go to see with these symptoms initially and how long it takes before the diagnosis is reached. Your recent experience will be hugely valuable in helping us to develop a better understanding of diagnosis.
Could we use the clinical information of your/your child’s experience of a cancer diagnosis for our research study?
Neither you nor your child need to do anything. The study involves us using the answers to questions you have already answered when you first met your child’s oncology team. These questions are routinely asked to all children and families at this time and your team have already noted down the answers on a form for us.
If you choose to take part in this study, the form will be passed on to the research team and will be looked at by researchers to understand if there are any patterns in the symptoms, the routes and lengths to diagnosis.
We do need your permission (‘consent’) to include your/your child’s information in the study. If you are happy for us to do so, please click here.
