Ryan Walker

Ryan's Quest

In September 2014, Ryan Walker was diagnosed with Wilms' tumour, a childhood kidney cancer, at the age of three.

Following 4 weeks of chemotherapy. Ryan had surgery to remove the kidney and tumour in October 2014.  The tumour was classifed at stage 2 and Ryan started a 28 week course of chemotherapy in November.

Ryan completed his chemotherapy on 5 May 2015, and rang the end of treatment bell in celebration. Since Ryan's diagnosis, 'Ryan's Quest', led by Ryan's parents Stephen and Rachel, has been raising funds for CCLG to support research into renal tumours, as well as ward 84 at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH) where Ryan was treated.

Ryan continues to do well and is having regular follow-up at the RMCH.
