Providing support to families who have a child with cancer is really important. A research team from Southampton, led by Dr Sam Watts, is asking for volunteers to talk to them about how they think psychological and social support can be best provided, in order to understand how to develop better ways of delivering such care.
Dr Watts, a father of three children said 'We understand that the care of children who have cancer is draining and we want to know more about how we can better support and empower parents during this difficult period.”
Taking part in the study would involve completing one single telephone interview with a member of the research team. The interview would last for less than 1-hour and can be scheduled for anytime of the week that is most convenient for the parent, including evenings and weekends.
The aim of the study is to use the information collected from the parents we interview to develop an online support intervention for parents.
