Frequently Asked Questions
Should my child be vaccinated against seasonal flu and swine flu?

Most children with cancer, leukaemia or brain tumours who are receiving chemotherapy, or who received it less than 6 months ago are in the group where flu immunisations are recommended.

The seasonal flu immunisation has started and the swine flu immunisation program is just starting.  Immunisation will usually be done by your GP.

If you are unsure about whether your child should have the immunisations or you have received an invitation to go to your GP for an immunisation and are not sure what to do, then you should discuss your concerns with the doctors and nurses looking after your child.  They are best placed to give specific advice about what is best for your child.
