Research at University of Leicester

We are proud to be hosted by the University of Leicester's internationally renowned Cancer Studies Department based within the Clinical Sciences Building at the Royal Infirmary hospital in Leicester.

The Department is recognised for its competitive research in cancer, notably chemoprevention, early detection and personalised medicines. It has a broad portfolio of studies in thoracic oncology and lymphoid malignancies with more focused interests in colorectal, pancreatic and breast cancers as well as melanoma.

The Department led the recent renewal of the Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) and was a key partner in Leicester successfully achieving Cancer Research UK Centre status in 2014.

We aim to work more closely with the Department and look at ways in which more studies could be developed for children's cancer.
